...a passion for creating contemporary photography. We combine the very best of photo-journalism and directed, fashion style photography to create a unique style of story-telling.
Samantha, Glen and now Jade are three people who get on really well and take great photographs apart and together. We have different personalities and different ways of looking at things but they come together to make beautiful wedding photography.
The most important thing to us is that each couple we work with has a fantastic time on their wedding day. This is the way we see it: it is your job to have the best day of your life and it is our job to create a collection of beautiful wedding photographs.
Our approach to wedding photography is to ...
... capture the atmosphere and character from the day rather than just formal poses. We like to capture many aspects from a wedding, including the details and finer touches, your VIP guests and natural moments.
We do not dominate your wedding day, instead we make sure you are really relaxed and having a great time, that is when we get our best images.
We use an element of fashion within our photography, to provide some stunning images, which would not look out of place on any wall. We also like to capture special moments - that impromptu smile or hug, small tear or glance. We like our photographs to have vibrancy, to really bring back your memories from the day.
We also take a number of more formal photographs, so that we can capture all the people who mean the most to you. We recommend the time allocated to this part is no more than 15 or 20 minutes at the most. We never take hours doing photographs – most of the time you will not realise we were there.
PureLight by Sam & Glen Wedding Albums
We have a range of beautiful albums, including Queensberry albums. You can choose from a beautiful matted album - this means the prints are displayed on each page with traditional mats, or an artbook album, where the whole page is made using photographic paper.
We like to let the photographs speak for themselves within our albums, rather than being too creative with computerised effects. We use technology to bring out the best image from a photograph but they are still essentially photographs, not computerised images. We use a strong element of design in the way we layout our images, to bring the best from each page. You can see various examples on our album design page.
If you want to know more or would like to book
We always like to meet with people if we can at enquiry stage, but this depends upon your circumstances. We cannot travel to clients for enquiries, as otherwise we would be travelling all over the country just to meet people. However, clients are more than welcome to visit us in Newark, Nottinghamshire. Please call (01636 673800) or email to make an appointment. We can also arrange a Skype call - if you are set up, with or without webcam, or there is still phone of course! Some of our clients are happy to confirm details via phone or email, and then we will meet with them before the day in any event.
A date is secured by payment of a booking fee and completion of a booking form, which we will sign and return a copy for your reference. As you can see, we put a large amount of effort and time into each and every wedding we accept and therefore we can't reserve dates without a booking fee, otherwise we all end up a bit confused as to who has reserved what.
We receive many enquiries for various dates and therefore any specific date is allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. We do our best to respond as quickly as we can to all enquiries and to make ourselves available. We have a no hassle policy and this simply means that we assume if people like what we do then they will make the effort to book us at the earliest opportunity.

... with clients prior to the wedding, a service we feel allows us to get the correct feel for what exactly is required and to get to know each couple better before the big day. The service we provide is more intimate and tailored around your needs. That means you are more relaxed in front of the camera.
