Photography Tuition

I've had quite a bit of interest in tuition since I launched this earlier in the autumn. It seems there are plenty of would-be photographers. The tuition is 1-2-1, so each one is personalised and includes 6 months on-line mentoring support. The course is designed to help people take better pictures and includes some lessons in techniques and advice, coupled with hands on experience. These are tailored to suit the needs of each person, so we can be quite flexible.

People can book as many sessions as they feel would be helpful and these are based at our studio, which is at Hexgreave Hall Estate, near Mansfield - a fantastic location for photography.

If you live further away and are still interested, then I can arrange sessions on location, but obviously there would need to be a few people to make the travel worthwhile.

You can purchase gift cards on our site or if you'd just like to book some sessions then email me at glen@wearepurelight.co.uk

Burghley House Weddings

Well it was been a busy few weeks.

Congratulations to Jonathan and Helen, who were married on Saturday 8th November at Wollaton, Nottingham - the weather came good at the important moments in the day - and the day itself was very special. They held their reception at the Priest House Hotel, Castle Donington.

On Sunday 9th November we were at Burghley House, Stamford, Lincolnshire for a wedding show. This was the first ever wedding show at Burghley and it was very busy. If we saw you there then a big hi from us!

Last Monday I was helping Jade with a shoot in Derby with studio pictures at Fresh Faces - Little Creations, held at the Riverside Centre at Pride Park. We have started to do a few nursery and children shoots. This coming Wednesday I am at our local Nursery, Fernwood (Newark) doing the same thing. These are, of course, the more modern types of children photographs.

I've also being doing a few lifestyle portraits and some in the studio at Hexgreave. You can see the studio portraits of Luke and Grace and lifestyle portraits of Joanne and Scott in the recent work gallery. I have some gorgeous pictures of baby William, which were taken out by Woodhall Spa - taken on location, so the setting with autumn leaves and straw bales is wonderful. And last Saturday I did some lifestyle portraits of two teenage sisters (Amy and Bethan) together with their grandma's puppy, Hamish. These were taken in the grounds of Hexgreave Hall Estate and again provided a wonderful background, with plenty of autumn colours.

Sam's also been busy with some PureWoman shoots, which are now held at Allington Manor, near Grantham.

And finally, this coming weekend we will be at an Asian wedding show on Sunday 23rd November at the Leicester Marriott, which runs from midday to 7pm. So if you're in Leicester on that day then call in and say hi.

PhotoBooth by PureLight - Halloween Fancy Dress

We are starting to really like and enjoy Photobooth. Here are a few pictures from a Halloween Fancy Dress party last Friday. The party was also in aid of a charity too. The costumes were great and made for some excellent photographs. We are able to get the images on screen a few moments after they are taken, which creates a lot of interest as people can then see what see look like. Photography by Jade and Samantha, editing by Glen.

You can see the pictures at our recent work gallery.

PureWoman - New Home and New Team Member!

I'm sure by now you all know about PureWoman. If not, where have you been? Get yourself over to www.wearepurewoman.co.uk, so we can introduce ourselves. But not until you've read this!

A new team member has joined us: another Sam (well we like to keep things nice and simple!) Sam's full of enthusiasm and has some really creative ideas.

As soon as I met Sam she just "got it". She understood that PureWoman isn't about creating tacky top shelf images, it's all about bringing out the beauty in every woman who comes to us. And she's got some brilliant ideas to ensure that the PW feeling lasts after the shoot: including a digital diary of your make-over: a photographic record to help you recreate your looks when you get home. Genius!

Our other big news is that PureWoman's unique brand of boudoir photography has a new home! The sumptuous but welcoming Allington Manor. We just love Allington. It's a great place to come and be pampered and the perfect back drop for our shoots.

To introduce the world (well Lincolnshire!) to our new venue, we took the lovely Laina and gave her the whole PW experience, to promote a local lingerie shop. The results are in this month's Lincolnshire Pride.

But here's a sneak preview...

Fawsley Hall, Northamptonshire

Here are some pictures from the open day at Fawsley Hall, held yesterday. This was an open day rather than a wedding show, so it was a chance for people to see the venue as it would be laid out for a wedding - without the hustle and bustle of a wedding show.

I was asked by the venue director to come along and take some pictures - and here are some of the results. You can see more at our recent work gallery:- Fawsley Hall Pictures.
